Manchester police have decided to categorise attacks on punks and goths as hate crimes.  For anyone who thinks that identity politics has gone mad over recent years, this should come as a strong piece of counter-evidence.  It is good to see the law once again recognising the need to support more effectively those who get beaten up by bigots motivated by hatred  as opposed to those who have
the living daylights kicked out of them by otherwise decent people acting out  of indifference or mild affection. And let's hope they get the legislative change necessary to escalate the penalties too.   

Blessed are the lobby groups, for they shall receive more justice.
