To Florida and Back

I am just back in Philadelphia this morning from an overnight trip to Florida, where I participated in the ordination service for a friend from Tenth (Andrew DiNardo) who now serves with Rick Phillips at First Presbyterian Church in Coral Springs/Margate. It was encouraging to hear by every account how God is blessing the ministry of the Word in that church with deepening discipleship and a growing passion for outreach in the community.
Rick's charge last night would encourage the soul of any faithful minister of the gospel. It came from Corinthians: "We also believe, and so also we speak" (2 Cor. 4:13). The first and fundamental calling of the minister is to believing by faith what God has said in his Word, and then having believed, to speak the saving words of the gospel.
