God in a Box
July 11, 2006
As the seconds count down to Tony Pinnochio's deadline, I find my hope of rescue fading. Seems the establishment at Ref21 have caved in to the vigorous campaign of the Association of Sensibly Sound People Against Irony Network to get rid of all wit and humour from the blog. The bullet in the brain can be only days away.
Anyway, my trusty assistant , a kind of Igor to my Frankestein, sent this to me this morning:
Stick this on your next blog - this is from the latest Time Magazine (July 7, 2006) interview with Kathrine Jefferts Schori: Is belief in Jesus the only way to get to heaven?
"We who practice the Christian tradition understand him as our vehicle to the divine. But for us to assume that God could not act in other ways is, I think, to put God in an awfully small box."
God in a box? Where have I heard that before? You'd never guess who I had in the back of my cab the other day.....
