Gospel Coalition Voyeur

Paul Levy
Now that I have an 'online' ministry here at Reformation 21 I will join Trueman in biting the hand that feeds me repeatedly.  My guess is this blog will last about 3 more weeks before it's taken off line and Derek loses his job.

I was recently referred to the Gospel Coalition Conversations. Basically you can be a voyeur to American Celebrity evangelicals discussing various aspects of ministry, the whole thing seems to be recorded on a security camera in a casino and is shot in black and white.  The one I watched was where Mark Driscoll, Josh Harris and Francis Chan were discussing Chan moving church or leaving his church to find where the Lord will lead him.  I didn't honestly have the foggiest clue what they were going on about, though it was interesting to see Harris and Driscoll probe Chan as to his motives and what his future will be. I was encouraged that they put the friendliest of boots in at times.

What concerns is me why do we want to watch other peoples conversations? I didn't see the irony of it all until afterwards, that I watched the round table discussion of these men as my wife was sitting on the sofa trying to talk to me. It was easier for me to watch 3 people I've never heard of have a conversation than have a real life conversation with Mrs Levy.

Are the conversations of evangelical celebrities more interesting than my conversations, not judging by the video I saw.  What next?  please, please, please could we have gospel coalition big brother.
