Pastors, elders, deacons, and church leaders -- Free Lunch! ...I thought that would get your attention. Read on, it's in here.

It is my pleasure to invite you to learn more about the Philadelphia Conference on Reformed Theology which is coming to Grand Rapids for its eighth year.

Since its inauguration in 1974, PCRT has attracted overflow audiences to its biblical-expository approach to Christian doctrine. PCRT remains a leading institution in the promotion of the great, majestic, and stirring themes of the Protestant Reformation. Just as when Dr. James Boice founded the conference, we continue to live in a time when the foundations need to be restored and our conference rallies motivated Christians from across the nation to raise a standard of truth in our generation. Indeed, this conference has taken its place among those ministries that have fostered renewal in the church.

Please join us at a free lunch to be held at Byron Center First Christian Reformed Church on January 24, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. This will be an excellent time of fellowship with other pastors in your area, and I will share how this year's conference may benefit you and your congregation.

This year's PCRT will be March 23-25, 2012. It will be hosted by Byron Center First Christian Reformed Church. The 2012 theme is The Gospel: What? Why? How? with a pre-conference titled Preaching the Gospel. Speakers at the Grand Rapids conference this year will be Ligon Duncan, Sinclair Ferguson, Robert Godfrey, Richard Phillips, and Harry Reeder.

What makes the Gospel a source of such abounding joy? What is the bad news, to which the Gospel is the remedy? What is the power with which the Gospel brings salvation? How is the cross the very center of the Gospel? What was the distinct Gospel message that Jesus preached, and how do we preach it today? How do pastors and churches take up the Gospel ministry of reconciliation, of which we read in the Bible? These are subjects we will consider in our exploration of the Gospel during PCRT. In our seminars, we will bring our gospel focus upon the contemporary church scene to consider our situation, our challenges, and our opportunities in sending forth the good news of great joy in Jesus Christ.

For those who are not familiar with PCRT, there is a pre-conference on Friday titled Preaching the Gospel. The pre-conference focus demonstrates and defines the man, the message, and the method required for an effective Gospel ministry. Using three Pauline texts, we will explore in height and depth what the Gospel does to the man who preaches, how it permeates and penetrates the expositional message he preaches, and the manner and method of his preaching.
