My attempt to trigger class warfare by blaming the English public school system for the popularity of annihilationism seems to have worked, with a mass rising of the OBN and the OST to protest my thesis.   Indeed, Pete Sanlon (not, I believe, a public school boy)sent me a link to this article which makes a good case for the influence of Basil Atkinson, the Cambridge University Librarian, on the key figures.  Thus, we should blame the Librarian.  A dodgy sort of cove, as they say. I knew it was him all along.
