CRT's Birthday

I can indeed confirm that it is the self-proclaimed Greatest Living Englishman's birthday on Sunday.  But, having posed Del's questions to him earlier today re. rumours of Springsteen burning and Welsh learning, he quoted to me Ernst Renan's response when asked by a student if rumours were true that he had abandoned Catholicism for Protestantism: `Young man, I've lost my faith, not my mind.'  He's lost his youth, Del, but not his impeccable cultural instincts.
