Skip Ryan and Park Cities Presbyterian Church (PCPC)

There is big news out of Dallas, from yesterday. Read PCPC's statement below. PCPC has probably been the fastest growing conservative presbyterian mega-church in the English-speaking world over these last fifteen years (and it is one of the largest churches in the PCA). We at the Alliance appreciate Skip Ryan's leadership and ministry, and pray God's rich blessings on him, and the congregation of PCPC.

Skip Ryan to leave position as PCPC senior pastor

Park Cities Presbyterian Church announced during worship services on August 20, 2006, that Senior Pastor, Dr. Joseph F. (Skip) Ryan will be leaving his position as senior pastor. Dr. Ryan has decided to change his current role after 15 years of strenuous service to a large and active church.

A transition process to find a new senior pastor will begin immediately. Dr. Ryan will continue to be a part of the Park Cities Presbyterian Church staff for the foreseeable future and will assist and participate in the transition.

“We are very thankful for Skip’s ministry to us over the past 15 years,” said Jack Denman, Clerk of the Session of Park Cities Presbyterian Church. “It is our hope that he and his wife Barbara will continue to remain an active and important part of our church family for many years to come.”

Dr. Ryan is the first and only Senior Minister to serve at Park Cities Presbyterian Church. During his fifteen years of ministry at the church, the congregation has grown from 1,200 to 5,000 members, and has participated in the planting of 57 churches in Dallas and around the world. Over 30 local community ministries have been supported with members’ time and tithes as well, and Dr. Ryan was instrumental in the establishment of Mercy Street, a thriving ministry in West Dallas.

Dr. Ryan’s radio program, “Transforming Presence” can be heard Sundays on KLUV (98.7 FM at 7:30 am) and KWRD (100.7 FM at 9:00 pm) and via www.pcpc.org.

Park Cities Presbyterian Church was founded in 1991 with a vision to extend the transforming presence of the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ to Dallas and the world. It is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America, a national denomination.
